Monitoring network status with Arduino

Number one rule of being an administrator of computer network is to have all information in the field of view. The faster problem will catch your attention the faster will be response to it. Dr. Ayars decided to make visual alert system which lights a red LED when one of machines goes off. As his managed network consists of 13 computers without hesitation he took an Arduino board where he attached a LED pair (green/red) for each and mounted everything in his PC front panel where floppy drive used to be. Arduino communicates with PC using USB to TTL converter. Python based script runs every minute ti check status of network computers and sends message to arduino which in turn updates LEDs....
