Hacking a picture frame TFT LCD
There a lots of gadgets around with LCD screens. As they are massed produced – you can get them for pennies. In this project cheap keychain photo frame was taken apart which had 128×128 TFT LCD screen with ILI9163 controller interfaced in 8 bit parallel mode. WPvideo 1.10 The hardest part in this project was to track down LCD pins that could be connected to microcontroller. Using common sense and oscilloscope LCD finally popped a Hello World. To make things more human friendly there were a breadboard compatible adapter board fabricated. For fast start a demo project was created in AVR Studio 5....
