Adding Nokia 1100 LCD to your microcontroller project
Graphical LCDs give more freedom on displaying data. You can have variable size and type of fonts, draw graphs and do other fun stuff you couldn’t do with alphanumeric LCDs. Circuitvalley shows how it is easy to interface Nokia 1100 graphical LCD to a PIC microcontroller. LCD is controlled over I2C interface so it doesn’t utilize lots of pins. LCD itself is 96×65 pixel size which his not too big that would require too much of RAM and not to small to display most of actual data. Gaurav goes through LCD features, initialization sequence and provides sample code to start with. Code example is written in C language so you should find it easy to adapt for any type of microcontroller like AVR, MSP430 or ARM....
